Alaria’s baptism, Flaxton Gardens

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

It was a thrill to be asked to photograph the baptism of Alaria, not just because she is a beautiful baby, but because I had photographed her parents, Glenn and Shireen’s wedding. Flaxton Gardens proved to be an ideal location, as once again the weather was not conducive to an outdoor ceremony, which was Glenn and Shireen’s original idea.  Have a happy life, Alaria.

Flamehill Vineyard – Grape stomp

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Well – this was a colourful assignment. Flame Hill Winery were hosting a grape stomp, and model Megan was daubed in bright swirls of blues and reds. This event was a great success for Flame Hill. If you haven’t had lunch at this wonderful location, you have been missing out.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Monday, December 21st, 2009
As we approach the end of the year and after lots and lots and lots of glorious (some slightly soggy) weddings, it’s good to reflect on one or two of the highlights in this photographer’s busy life.

Highlight of the current year, clearly, was being placed as a top finalist by the Bridal Industry awards. I would like to say another very big and very sincere thank you to all my lovely brides for nominating me.

A nice surprise is seeing the increasing number of publications around Australia that have carried examples of my work. In no particular order, the following come to mind – and where better for a quiet brag than my blog?

Good Weekend, (inserted The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age and read by over 1.7 million Australians); Maleny’s own The Range News; The Sunshine Coast Daily; Sunday Mail; The Hinterland Times and the Hinterland Tourism Guide (both cover shots); Salt Magazine, Coast Magazine and a few others.

And look out for Earth, Dreams and Magic due for publication early next year!

2010 is looming and already many weddings are filling up the calendar, including one I’m especially excited about that is being held in a former palace in Europe! And naturally, with both feet firmly on the ground, I’m also very much looking forward to weddings closer to home at Maleny Manor, House of Laurels and the Little White Wedding Chapel, to mention just three of the Sunshine Coast hinterland’s top wedding venues.

Signing off now for the Christmas break and wishing all my wonderful clients, brides and grooms a peaceful and happy festive season and a prosperous NewYear.

Simon and Lynette 21st March 2009

poc032

Simon and Lynette had wonderful dreams of marrying on the beach at sunrise – an early start for all! Unfortunately, instead of golden hues, a storm raged, and the sun kept away. Undaunted, the ceremony took place on a balcony by which time the rain had stopped and we were able to get really atmospheric shots on the beach. Even the clouds surrounding the Glasshouse Mountains had drifted away by the time we arrived on The Range.

Matt and Sarah

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

Then there was matt and Sarah’s wonderful wedding. Their big day took place in the beautiful showcase Tea Gardens just outside Maleny. There were smiles, tears and laughter as the afternoon unfolded. It was truly a romantic and touching occasion.matt-and-sarah-1matt-and-sarah-31matt-and-sarah-2
