How do I choose the right photographer?
Ask to see samples of the photographer’s work, not just what you see on their website. Is the quality what you are looking for? Do you like the photographer and have a sense of a collaborative relationship? Does he/she share your vision or do you feel they are imposing their views without listening? Whatever your project, try to meet the photographer beforehand. I offer a free no obligation consultation. For weddings – are the packages attractive and in your price bracket?
Some photographers subcontract out. Check that the person you talk to is the one who will do the work. Is the photographer a fully accredited member of AIPP?
How would you describe your style of photography?
For weddings and portraits I prefer an informal, relaxed type of photography. I listen to the requests of my clients and adjust my style accordingly. For commercial work I aim to be highly efficient and professional and I’m generally able to offer constructive ideas. Have you been able to examine the photographer’s list of commercial clients?
Will we meet you before the wedding or portrait sessions?
I always encourage a meeting so I can discover exactly what my clients want out of their photo session.
Who owns the rights to my images?
Penny Riddoch Photography and Design retains copyright ownership of all images.
What equipment do you use?
I use professional Canon equipment, including a variety of high quality lenses. Two cameras are used for all assignments. Portable backup facilities safeguard your images. I also have professional studio equipment including lights for special situations.
What about your commercial photography – can I contact you about any job?
I have experience in a wide variety of commercial assignments, and love a challenge. However, if the project is out of my range of expertise, I will let you know.
Can I purchase your Natural World images, or can I commission you to take specific photos?
You can contact me to purchase any photos from my Natural World collection. This website only shows a very small selection from my vast library. I am happy to assist you if there is something particular you want. I will also travel to other locations, in Australia or overseas. I have lived in many parts of the world, and have wide knowledge of Africa, India, Great Britain, Western United States and New Zealand amongst others.
What are your rates?
Contact me and I will send you details of my wedding and portrait packages. Commercial assignments depend on the scope of the job, how long it is likely to take and how much follow up work is needed. I am happy to offer quotations and where there is the possibility of significant upward variance, will advise my clients in advance. Equally, if costs come in below the quotation, I will charge the lower amount.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers make ideal presents to give for any occasion – they make fantastic wedding presents – just add them to your gift registry.
How do I book with you, and can I commission you for work at short notice?
My contact details are on this website. Email or phone me to discuss your requirements. My diary is normally quite full, especially for weddings. It is better to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
